'They'll prostitute you for all you are worth': Sinead O’Connor's stark warning to Miley Cyrus
A young Sinead O’Connor with long, flowing locks was once offered a recording contract based on her commercial appeal, so she … promptly shaved her head.
Sinead went on to become one of the bestselling female artists of all time anyway. Now she’s offering up some free advice to pop star du jour Miley Cyrus, who as of late has been looking to buck her own commercial appeal with a new, short-cropped look.
“The music business doesn’t give a sh-t about you, or any of us,” Sinead writes. “They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think it’s what YOU wanted … and when you end up in rehab as a result of being prostituted, ‘they’ will be sunning themselves on their yachts in Antigua, which they bought by selling your body and you will find yourself very alone.” (Photo: Fred Tanneau/AFP/Getty Images files; Christopher Polk/Getty Images files)
