‘I’m an American citizen!’: New video of Reese Witherspoon’s drunken arrest showing actress letting loose on officer surfaces
A dash-cam video of Reese Witherspoon’s recent disorderly-conduct arrest provides a rare glimpse of one of Hollywood’s best-known actresses unfiltered as she, after “one too many” glasses of wine, takes on a no-nonsense Georgia state trooper following her husband’s traffic stop.
Amanda Bynes’ Twitter pics: Her ‘selfies’ are A Picture of Dorian Gray for the digital age
The erratic behaviour and possessiveness former child-turned-teen-starlet Amanda Bynes has over her image is relative to — if not updated for the sake of contemporary measure — literary narcissist Dorian Gray. While the character of Oscar Wilde’s sumptuous and sardonic story was slightly more tragic than our modern-day Twitter heroine, it does tap into a rising tension between the representations we create of ourselves versus that which society largely expects of a person. We all inherently possess a narcissism like that, particularly in a time when we’ll Instagram our meal or outfit of the day and hashtag it to gain more likes, more validation. (Twitter)
Justin Bieber security team taking ‘every precaution’ as details emerge of alleged murder-for-hire, castration plot
After New Mexico police revealed they’d uncovered an alleged murder-for-hire plot to kill Justin Bieber, the Canadian pop star’s management has released a statement saying they take “every precaution to protect and insure the safety of Justin and his fans.”
Other than that, the star and his security team have been tight-lipped about how seriously they take the threat.
News of the bizarre assassination plot made news around the world Wednesday after Albuquerque’s KRQE reported that Mark Staake, 41, and his nephew Tanner Ruane, 23, had allegedly been hired to castrate and murder the singer. (Tim Boyles/Getty Images for Jingle Ball 2012)
Halle Berry’s ex-boyfriend claims the actress’s fiance threatened to kill him during a confrontation that left him with a broken rib, bruised face and under arrest.
Gabriel Aubry’s claims are included in court filings that led a judge Monday to grant a restraining order against actor Olivier Martinez, who is engaged to the Oscar-winning actress. READ MORE: natpo.st/Yn1kxB

Whitney Houston cause of death: ‘No foul play,’ says coroner
An investigation by the L.A. County Coroner’s Office into the death of singer Whitney Houston — found dead in a hotel bathtub on Saturday — has ruled out foul play.
Ed Winter, the chief coroner for Los Angeles County, refused to comment on the cause of death or the presence of prescription pills. He said the autopsy was complete but results would be kept under wraps awaiting toxicology reports.
“There are reports she maybe was drowned, or overdosed, but we won’t make a final determination until all the tests are in,” he said. (Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

No shortage of Material
Bruce Arthur: There are many ways to describe the fountains of nonsense that orbit around the Super Bowl, but the best way is probably that it is a towering monument to the most American of bullspit, as an overdubbed movie might put it. The Playboy party will take place at a Hampton Inn; Paris Hilton will be at the ESPN “Next” party, despite being a relic of the past; a ticket to one of the Leather and Laces parties featuring Carmen Electra, Jenny McCarthy and the woman known as “JWoww” costs up to US$850, which is coincidentally what sensible people should be paid to attend. It is a great stinking soup of money and power, celebrities and their reflected glow.
But some of the glow is genuine, even if it attracts the most obsequious of moths. And so, we come to Madonna, who will be the halftime act at the Super Bowl Sunday, and appeared Thursday to speak to the media. Would she employ her thin veneer of an English accent? Would she be pompous? Would she be naked? She hadn’t done that for a while, but it seemed wise to be mentally prepared.
She was none of those things. She was OK. The modern American celebrity journalism machine, however, filled in the BS for her.

People’s Choice Awards: Red-carpet recap
Lea Michele‘s Marchesa dress wasn’t terrible, Elisha Cuthbert and Busy Phillips looked OK, and Jennifer Lawrence‘s dress may have been a bit of a mess but it did make me double-take, so that’s something. But the bad far outweighed the good. Kristen Bell and Ashley Greene struck out in leather, and what in the world was Demi Lovato thinking?!
AnnaLynne McCord tweets topless photo to fan

Beyonce baby Blue Ivy Carter causes security issues at Lenox Hill Hospital
A Brooklyn man named Neil Coulon has premature twin girls staying at the same hospital as Beyonce and Jay-Z. He told the New York Daily News that he’s seen the pop stars’ security detail plenty. Seeing his baby girls, however, has proved somewhat more challenging. The 38-year-old told the paper that Beyonce and Jay-Z’s hospital takeover has prevented him and his family from being with their newborns on multiple occasions.

The Toronto Raptors’ home opener on Wednesday had a decidedly local feel.
Toronto’s own Jamaal Magloire addressed the crowd before the came. The introduction music was courtesy of Drake, nee Aubrey Graham. Kardinal Offishall performed at halftime. And sitting at half court was the sideways hat-wearing, shriek-causing king of the pageview, Justin Bieber, from Stratford.
