Westminster Dog Show 2012: The best photos from day one
It’s day one of the 136th annual Westminster Dog Show at New York’s Madison Square Gardens (the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the U.S., second to the Kentucky Derby.)

Some two thousand dogs will be padding their way through the ring. They represent 185 breeds, including six types making their debut this year: Cesky Terriers, Norwegian Lundehunds, Entlebucher Mountain Dogs, Xoloitzcuintlis, Finish Lapphunds and American English Coonhounds.
