Kate Middleton and Prince William Barbies commemorate anniversary of Royal Wedding
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are really getting dolled up for the first anniversary of their royal wedding.

Prince William and Kate announce Canadian tour dates
The freshly minted — and newly married — Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend Canada Day in the capital before embarking on a cross-Canada tour in early July, according to a tour itinerary released by the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.
In their first official visit abroad since their April 29th wedding, Prince William and Catherine Middleton will visit Ottawa from June 30 to July 2 before stopping in Montreal on July 2 and Quebec City on July 3 on their way to Charlottetown. Following an overnight stay in Charlottetown, they will travel to Summerside, P.E.I. on July 4 and then head north to Yellowknife from July 4 to 6. They wind up their Canadian tour in Calgary from July 6 to 8.

The dress
Kate’s dress choice was arguably the most discussed topic leading up to Friday’s wedding. In the end, the newly crowned Duchess of Cambridge chose a dress designed by Sarah Burton, the creative director for legendary British fashion house, Alexander McQueen. Weeks of safety precautions ensure wedding goes off without a hitch
It wasn’t all fun and games with the wedding, though, and British police arrested 18 people Friday morning on the streets of London. In total, more than 5,000 police officers were on hand to control the massive crowds that flocked to the event.
Remembering Diana
On another more serious note, Friday’s wedding also paid tribute to the groom’s late mother, Princess Diana. From the sapphire and diamond-encrusted engagement ring to one of the wedding hymns, it was evident that Prince William wanted to include the memory of his mother in his special day.

Gray skies gave way to the gothic vault of Westminster Abbey, as Prince William and Kate Middleton were joined in holy matrimony before 1,900 guests and a captive global audience ogling the romantic union from the comfort of their home.
William, second in line to the thrown, and his veiled bride were deemed man and wife by the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, marking a fairy-tale beginning to what one well-wisher called their “happily ever after.”
