Tournament of Muppets: And the winner is…
The Tournament of Muppets has come to a close, and after six days of debate and more than 25,000 votes cast, the winner (by a slim margin) is Gonzo the Great. Agree? Disagree? Think it should have been a different Top 2 altogether? Reblog with your opinion or take it to Twitter using the hashtag #muppetbattle. Thanks for following along! (Photo: Chip Zdarsky)
An epic battle is in the making!
Tournament of Muppets, Day 4
We’ve nearly made it to the final four contenders in our Tournament of Muppets, but to get there, we have to see how the showdowns between Fozzie and Beaker & Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Rizzo and Kermit play out. Who will win? Will a dark horse be a contender for the final 2?
You can keep up with the Tournament of Muppets discussion (which thusfar has been heated) on Twitter by using the hashtag #muppetbattle, and be sure to let us know your thoughts by mentioning us @nparts! And be sure to visit us tomorrow when we announce the final 2 contenders — not only can you cast your vote to determine the winner, but at 1 p.m., we’ll be hosting a live chat to discuss and wrap up the Tournament. See you there!
The Tournament of Muppets, Day 2
Pepe the King Prawn was shut out! Dr. Julius Strangepork was shot down! And Animal was defeated by Gonzo, prompting a flurry of reader contempt, disgust and disbelief (and a call for the wild percussionist to be brought back into the ring as a wildcard entry down the road). But what’s most important is that, after yesterday’s Tournament of Muppets debut, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Scooter and the Swedish Chef live to die another day – as does our Tournament of Muppets.
Click the graphic to see who comes out on top of four new matchups — this time, featuring Statler and Waldorf, Fozzie Bear and, of course, Kermit the Frog. May the best Muppet win!
This is, of course, awesome.
Behold: The Tournament of Muppets
Here we begin our Tournament of Muppets, in which we put felt against fur to determine which Muppet will reign supreme.
