DJs behind Kate hoax break down on Aussie TV over nurse’s death, but radio station CEO defends prank
SYDNEY — They expected a hang-up and a few laughs. Instead, the Australian DJs behind a hoax phone call to the U.K. hospital where the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge was treated were in tears Monday as they described how their joke ended up going too far.
The phone call — in which they impersonated Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles — went through, and their station broadcast and even trumpeted the confidential information received. Whatever pride there had been over the hoax was obliterated in a storm of worldwide public outrage after Friday’s death, still unexplained, of the first nurse they talked to.

The company behind the Australian radio station that made a prank call to the London hospital where the Duchess of Cambridge was receiving treatment for severe morning sickness has expressed its sadness and shock over the death of the nurse who took the call.
Details about the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha, a married mother of two, are still emerging but it appears she took her own life just two days after the DJs, posing as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, called the King Edward VII Hospital to inquire about Kate’s condition.

The nurse receptionist at a central London hospital that treated the Duchess of Cambridge for severe morning sickness has apparently committed suicide, only two days after falling for a prank by two Australian radio DJs.
The DJs, posing as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, called the King Edward VII Hospital to inquire about Kate’s condition and were patched through to another nurse, who revealed private health details about the duchess.

The British hospital treating the former Kate Middleton admitted Wednesday it was victimized by a crank call in which information on her condition was given out to a woman impersonating Queen Elizabeth II.

French court orders tabloid to hand over all topless Kate photos after ‘brutal’ invasion of privacy
A French court ordered a magazine publisher to hand over all digital copies of topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge within 24 hours and blocked further publication of what it called a “brutal display” of William and Kate’s private moments.

Royals ‘saddened’ after topless Kate Middleton photos published in French tabloid Closer
French magazine Closer unleashed a new media tornado on Britain’s royal family on Friday with a five-page splash of photos showing the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, sunbathing topless with Prince William in the south of France.
“Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner,” a spokesperson for St James’ Palace said.

She shoots, she scores! The former Kate Middleton smashed home a goal Thursday as she played a bit of field hockey while visiting the British Olympic women’s team. The Duchess of Cambridge, who captained the team at her high school, Marlborough College, took the field in a morale-boosting mission ahead of the July 27-Aug. 12 London games.
The duchess arrived at Olympic Park in heels, but quickly donned a gray sweatshirt over coral colored jeans. Though she expressed some concern the jeans would clash with the bright blue pitch, she grabbed a stick and took a few shots.
She told the crowd it’s been a while since she played.
She said “my brain thinks I can do all these wonderful things but my body just doesn’t play ball.”
