Charles Lewis: Hate-filled pastor should be shunned by the world
What do you do about a man like Jones, who represents every instinct that is anathema to the religion he purports to represent, and is a disgrace to anyone with an ounce of dignity? Here’s the answer. Shun him.

Lorne Gunter: The Koran-burning pastor is a moron, but not a murderer
Okay, let’s get all the appropriate declarations out of the way first: Terry Jones is, as one of my colleagues on the National Post’s editorial board put it so eloquently this weekend, a “moron.” Jones is the pastor of the Dove World Outreach Center of Gainesville, Fla. He is also a bad man for burning a Koran last month, for posting a video of his deliberately provocative act on the Internet and for threatening to put Islam on trial and – if the faith is found guilty – who knows, perhaps next burning an effigy of the prophet Muhammad.
What Terry Jones is not – for all his sins – is a murderer. That designation belongs to the Muslim extremists who, in relation for his Koran-burning stunt – have rioted for three days in Afghanistan and killed a total of 24 people so far, including seven international staff of the UN in Mazar-i-Sharif in the northern part of the country.
