Rabbit plays foster mom to orphaned litter of kittens
A rabbit has become a foster mom to half a dozen kittens that were left orphaned when their mother was fatally shot near her New Brunswick home.
Dave and Ruth Chamberlain let their cat Tea Biscuit outside Saturday before leaving their home in Turtle Creek, N.B., about 25 kilometres outside Moncton.
When they returned about four hours later, their orange cat was nowhere in sight.
The Chamberlains eventually became worried about Tea Biscuit, who had six kittens, just a week old, to care for.

Zoo euthanizes white lioness due to cancerous growths
The Toronto Zoo has euthanized its white lioness, Nokanda, after she apparently developed cancerous tumours. The “very beautiful big cat” was 15.
“It’s hard, but it’s the cycle of life,” said senior vet Graham Crawshaw. “We have animals being born and animals dying as they get older, just like as with your own pets it can be hard,” he said. “There was nothing we would have been able to treat her with.”
