Chan wins world skating title, sets two more records
Patrick Chan of Canada has won the world figure skating championships, setting three world records in two days.
Chan, the silver medalist the past two years, scored 187.96 points in the free skate Thursday for a total of 280.98. Those broke Daisuke Takahashi’s previous records, set at Four Continents in 2008. Chan also set a record in the short program, his 93.02 points Wednesday topping Evgeni Plushenko’s old mark.
