Manitoba Hutterites: Photos offer rare glimpses of a community struggling with change
Kelly Hofer, a 19-year-old Hutterite, left his colony of 108 people in Manitoba this week. He found it too constricting because of his love of photography, traditionally discouraged among his people. But hundreds of photos taken before he left reveal a community in transition, stuck between traditional conservative habits and a new generation eager to embrace the pleasures of technology.
