Toronto Mayor ob Ford calls police, confronts man ‘fists cocked’ after spotting reporter near his home
Police were called to the home of Mayor Rob Ford Wednesday night after he spotted a man later identified as a Toronto Star reporter approaching his back fence with a recording device.

The man was Daniel Dale, a city hall reporter for the Star. Mr. Dale had come to Mr. Ford’s neighbourhood for a story about how the Mayor was attempting to buy a sliver of neighbouring Scarlett Mills Park in order to build an enhanced security fence.

By Mr. Dale’s account, the mayor ran at him repeatedly yelling “Are you spying on me? Are you spying on me? Are you spying on me?” “At some point, perhaps 10 or 15 seconds into the encounter, he cocked his fist near his head and began charging at me at a full run,” wrote Mr. Dale. “I began pleading with him, as loud as I could, with my hands up, for him to stop.” (Victor Biro for National Post)
